It’s Christmas night.  All the presents have been opened.  All the food has been eaten.  And, probably, a game or two has been watched.  Time to get out of the house and move!!! So……we did!  Right on down to the Broken Spoke to hear and dance to the music of Weldon Henson and the Hired Guns!  :)

Albert on drums & Dave on pedal steel.
Weldon on lead and Trey on bass.

Ronnie Smith Buyers Club #2 @ Broken Spoke (11/05/10)

What a night!  A benefit to raise funds for a great organization benefiting our kids.  Sam Bentley and The Honky Tonk Band opened the night with good ol’ country music.  The crowd loved it!

The proceeds from this fund raiser will ALL be used to benefit the Travis and Hays County FFA and 4H kids. That’s the entire purpose of the Ronnie Smith Memorial Buyers Group because that’s what Ronnie would have wanted.

Ronnie Smith Buyers Club #3 @ Broken Spoke (11/05/10)

Part 3!!!! The proceeds from this fund raiser will ALL be used to benefit the Travis and Hays County FFA and 4H kids. That’s the entire purpose of the Ronnie Smith Memorial Buyers Group because that’s what Ronnie would have wanted.

Kevin Fowler and his band stepped up to the mics and “rocked the house”!  We don’t care how tired, down, or depressed you might think you are, these guys will make you smile, laugh and forget all your troubles.  Of course, the Kevin had a big surprise for all of us when he got Johnny Rodriquez up on stage to do a few songs with him and the band!

Didn’t get Johnny on video with Kevin, but did get this one.  Love “Butter Bean”…..can’t help smiling every time we see/hear Kevin sing it.

Weldon Henson @ The Broken Spoke (07/07/2010)

After a great dinner at Artz Ribhouse listening to Charlie Irwin and Fred Smith, we headed down the street a little ways to see and hear our friends, Weldon Henson and The Hired Guns! So much fun!! Don’t know how you improve on perfection, but these guys do it….getting better every time we see them! Fun watching the dancers, too! And there were a LOT of them!! Only had one complaint….the dern “red” stage lights. :)



Trey is concentratin' again. :)

Couldn't get Chris, the drummer, in the picture. But, then, most drummers usually get left out even though they're a pretty dern important part of the band!! :)

Oh yeah!! A little "twin guitar" action goin' on.


Not sure what had Trey's attention.....but it musta been shocking! :)

Started the SXSW week off with dinner and our friends listening to Weldon and the guys at The Broken Spoke. So good go see our ol’ friend Albert back on the drums.

We started our March Musical Madness at The Broken Spoke….just cause we love Weldon and the guys! :)

Imagine our surprise when we walked in and found our buddy Vince Moreno sitting in on lead! Always a treat!
Since Tuesday nights at the Spoke take place in the "front room", the dance floor has a few obstacles like a pool table and eating tables and booths and......well, you get the picture. But it sure doesn't keep the dancers from dancing!
So good to see Albert on the drums....with that ever present smile. :)

This proves how nice the guys are. When a dancer was having problems dancing and holding her purse at the same time, Vince helped her out. Of course, we kinda like the sporty new look. :)
Wow!! Finally got a picture of Trey with his eyes open! Not necessarily a good picture....but the eyes are open! :)
