Comment: Hi, Carole:
You don't know me, but I'm originally from Austin, and have known Jim Grabowske
since Jesse James days when I played with Dolores and the Bluebonnet Boys.
Thanks for saying what you did about Jimmy. He was a hero of mine since way back
(nearly 60 years now!) I live in Houston now and have been with the River Road
Boys (www.riverroadboys.com)
about 13 years. Jim was always the gentleman he is today, and we think the world
of him and Willie. In my opinion, he has never received (until recently) the
kind of recognition he deserves. And thanks to you for talking about us western
swing musicians. We need all the help we can get, and we really appreciate this.
Keep up the great work!

Doing good here. Having some serious "label" issues and am a little
worried but still truckin'. Wanted to let you know about my 2nd Annual
Party on the Patio in Marlin,Tx. on June 24th. Talking to Billy Joe
about headling this year. I had 5 bands last year and about 750 people
turned out. (all word of mouth last year). Let me know where you want me
to get y'all a room at!!!!!

Comment: Hi there,
What a wonderful site you have here. I am a huge Country music fan
from England. Unfortunately we get very little country music over
here...the genre just isn't appreciated as it should be! There is
a good hardcore of fans though who make the best of what little we do
get. We have 2 country shows on national BBC radio both 1 hour per
week. On wednesday evening it is 'new' conuntry and on a Thursday
evening it is more traditional.
I have many favourite artists including Mark Chesnutt, Clint Black,
George Strait, Joe Nicholls, Lee Ann Womack....the list goes on and
on!!! A few years ago we had been lucky enough to have a few
artist tour over here. I have seen Garth Brooks, Travis Tritt,
Confedrate railroad, Trisha Yearwood (twice) Allison Krauss, Allison
Moorer, Martina McBride and Kathy Mattea. It seems now however
that the artist don't come over here anymore. I have been to USA
once a couple years back...but not really to a country music area of the
states... I was in New York City. I did however find a good country
music bar...Denims & Diamonds, it was excellent.
Your site has introduced me to many of the lesser known artists that are
on the circuit, and as I especially like Texas country & Texas swing it
has been of great help. Keep up the good work and have a wonderful
2006.
Best wishes from England.

name is Brandy Thomas and I am the daughter of Jerry and Crystal Sharp
(Sam Bentley). I am currently in route to Iraq where I will be located
with my fellow Marines for a while. Well, I've been keeping tabs on the
site and think it's great. It's wonderful getting to see my mother so
happy in those pictures! That Jerry is such a doll! Anyway, enough
beating around the bush...I have a favor to ask you. Could you please
take a picture of my mom and Jerry together for me?? It would absolutley
mean the world to me. Thanks and Semper Fidelis (ask my mom what

Comment: Thank ya'll so
much for the great web site, great pictures and being great friends. I
don't always get the opportunity to thank everyone for their continued
support as friends and customers of Giddy Ups. I have this dream of
having a place for musicians and friends to come together and enjoy what
each person brings to the table. Musicians are magic artists that move
our hearts and souls. I respect and appreciate all of the musicians that
have played at Giddy Ups and I stake my reputation on being honest,
trustworthy and respectful. The customers have been great in supporting
this new music scene I've worked on creating, and the musicians have all
been loyal and understanding of my dream. This dream has now become a
reality. Thanks to all of you - Nancy

Comment: Carole,
What can I say. I love watching for all the updates so when we talk for
hours I know what your talking about. For those of you who don't
know....Carole is my sister/best friend. We have known each other for
(Carole will kill me if I tell)!!!!! Carole has told me so much about
all of the new friends that she has met (and I have also met some of
you) and I am so glad that she has all of you (especially you Dobie)
since I can't be there as much as I would love to be. Stuck up here in
Illinois!!! Carole has always shared her life and her family with me and
I have always loved that about her. Our friendship started when she was
my boss and it has never ended but has grown so much over the years.
Carole says that we can share pictures by e-mailing to the website but
I'm not sure she wants some of the pictures shared (especially the ones
from New Mexico). :) Maybe some day!!! All my love to you Carole. See
you soon. Sis

Comment: Carole,
It is the highlight of any night when I play music to look out in the crowd
and see you. You are without a doubt one of the sweetest, most considerate
people who ever walked the face of this earth. Your website is fabulous!
I hope you know that it is really appreciated by a lot of people. The things
you write about all us pickers, are so nice. Thank you again for your help
for last Saturday night. We had so much fun at Giddy Ups and you were a
huge part of it. Keep up the good work!!! See you soon!

Norris, told me about your site. I wanted to thank you for all the wonderful
pictures you took of my grandfather's (Richard Doetsch) birthday. I wasn't
able to be there, but at least I was able to enjoy the pictures. I'm sure
he appreciated your very kind words as well. I also wanted to let you know
how much I have enjoyed the pictures of Buddy (my stepdad) and the band.
Thank you again for sharing them! Aloha and mahalo from Hawaii!

am a radio DJ-veteran from Norway(67) on Radio Loland,
www.radiololand.no. I just got hold
of the latest CD from Ricky Calmbach - a real clean & promising good artist.
I*ll play four tracks from his album thursday in my show "Tormods Hour"
that have now been runnin' for over 16 years. I started with DJ-show for
the federal Norwegian Radio back in the 60's! I wonder if you could send
me some of your other new releases as promos. Good luck! Sincerely Tormod

Comment: These are really
neat websites and I've enjoyed them. That's a really nice story about
you and Dobie - reminds me some of Becky and myself although we've only
known each other a little over a year. We sure have done some running
and seen some good honky-tonk music in that time though. It's always
so much fun to meet new people and make new friends - I truly believe that
some of us are destined to meet. And, I'm glad that we met you and
Dobie. Until next time.
