How many times on this website have I told you what a wonderful town Austin, TX, is if you love music?  Well, I'm not going to count, but it has been a lot!

BUT, you never know when you're going to be lucky enough to meet a "legend".......and I've been lucky several times.  This time I was surprised!

A friend & I had gone to Artz Ribhouse on a Sunday afternoon to hear Bert Rivera (a legend himself!).  Ted and Linda Branson came in with a slight built older gentleman that we didn't know although he sure was lively with a mischievous glint in his eye.

Linda told us it was Johnny Cuviello.  Johnny, who?  It didn't take us long to get the story!  This was the "Little Texas Drummer Boy" that used to play with the great Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys.  Now, if you're originally from Texas, that's royalty!

We've since been honored to attend a Jam Session featuring Johnny and a party thrown for his 92nd birthday.  Yes, folks, I said 92nd!  And he can still play drums!

Johnny doesn't seem to have his own website, but check out Ted and Linda's MySpace page (www.myspace.com/outofthepastcollectibles) for pictures, videos, and news.
