Opening for Kevin Fowler at the historic Floore Country Store in Helotes, was a young singer named Granger Smith.  We'd never seen him, but liked what we saw and heard on his website so we made sure we got there in time to see his part of the show.

He grabbed our attention with the very first song.  Instead of starting 'full out', Granger stepped up to the mic and started singing a Merle Haggard song....without the band.  All the people that had been milling around laughing, talking, drinking, stopped!  A hush fell over the crowd and all eyes turned to the stage.  Once he had our attention, he had the band start and they held our attention for the rest of the show.

If you find Granger scheduled to play in your area, check him out.  I think you'd enjoy him a lot.  If you have daughters....watch out.....they'll be smitten!  ;)
