 One Friday night in May, 2003, we didn't know where we were going. Dobie was working and everyone else wanted to stay close to home. We called the Stardust Club to find out who was playing. None of us recognized the band's name. But, what the heck, we decided we'd go check it out. After all, if they weren't any good, we could always go home early! Were we ever in for a treat. Dave Jorgenson and the Real Deal treated us to a night of true entertainment! Dave has one of the strongest voices I've ever heard. And, energetic? Look the word up in the dictionary and you'll find Dave's picture! This kid doesn't know how to 'just' stand and sing. That's why I picked the photo to the left for this page. It's a classic 'Dave stance'. But, never, does the 'moving around' detract from the music....it only enhances it. After I'd raved constantly about Dave....making Dobie think I'd totally lost my mind.....we had a chance to see him in San Marcos at an acoustic show. We sat close to the stage (where else?) and were teasing Dave about having a hard time reading his song list.....he handed us the list and told us to start picking....we did! Since then, it's almost a tradition at acoustic shows for Dobie and I to get control of the song list, but, not of the show! Dave has some very loyal fans and always makes sure they hear what they want. That's as it should be!! ;) Dave is now with the band RIO and the entertainment is still top-notch!
