The first time I saw Dale and the Lonestars was a benefit at the Stardust Club in May, 2003.  I was sick with bronchitis and should  have been home in bed.  But, it was a Poker Run benefit for the VA hospital and I let Elizabeth and Dobie talk me into going (as if they had to do much talking!).  It didn't take long for me to be 'hooked'.

After the show, we went outside to admire Dale's Indian.  Dobie wanted to see the bike 'up close'......Dale had her climb on behind him!  If you think we were going to miss that picture, you're wrong!  That's when we found out just how sweet Dale can be with his fans....and just how tight Dobie can hang on!  (Is that a smile on Dale's face or a grimace as he tries to breathe?)

Since I didn't go to clubs alone, I didn't get to see the guys again until they played the Broken Spoke in August.  I'd broke my camera the week before and bought a new one that day just so I could take pictures.  The camera is a good one, but the learning curve produced some interesting photos!!!

Dale and his band is my idea of real entertainment,  I've never seen them play less than two hours before taking a break.  Yet, with all the shows they do, each one is different. 

There's never a 'set list'.

If you like to dance, like country standards, or like original material, this is your band.  If you like personality & talent on stage, this is your band.  Never pass up a chance to see them perform or add a CD to your collection.  When you see them, take the time to meet these guys.  You'll find they're as nice off stage as they are on.
