The first time I saw Dale and the Lonestars
was a benefit at the Stardust
Club in May, 2003. I was sick with bronchitis and should
have been home in bed. But, it was a Poker Run benefit for the VA
hospital and I let Elizabeth and Dobie talk me into going (as if they had to do
much talking!). It didn't take long for me to be 'hooked'.
Since I wasn't ready to go to clubs alone, I didn't get to see the
guys again
until they played the Broken Spoke in August. I'd broken my camera the week before
and bought a new one that day just so I could take pictures. The camera is
a good one, but there were some interesting photos while I learned how to use it! Dale and his band is my idea of real entertainment, I've never seen them play less than two hours before taking a break. Yet, with all the shows they do, each one is different. There's never a 'set list'. If you like to dance, like country standards, or like original material, this is your band. If you like personality & talent on stage, this is your band. Never pass up a chance to see them perform or add a CD to your collection. When you see them, take the time to meet these guys. You'll find they're as nice off stage as they are on. A neat link featuring Dale and The Lone Stars
