Billy Joe Shaver.....one of the most well-known unknown people I've ever seen.  Even if you have no idea who he is....you know him.  So does the music community....all musicians know of him and his superb song writing ability.

Billy Joe is a singer.....a story teller.....an entertainer.  He's had lots of ups and downs in his life and his songs translate those experiences into something we can relate to while we enjoy the music and lyrics.  One of his songs (Try and Try Again) encourages his listeners to never give up.....obviously something he applies in his own life.

While he's had his share of hard times, he has a strong belief in God which he isn't afraid to tell about....without 'preaching'.  He's just a great guy telling you of his own faith.  He reminds you that 'it isn't what goes into your mouth...it's what comes out' that makes a difference in your life and those around you.

So....the next time Billy Joe comes to your area...go see this legend.  Pick up his auto-biography if you have a chance.  But, most of all....the next time hear I'm Just an Old Chuck of Coal, Honky-tonk Heroes, Ride Me Down Easy, I've Been to Georgia On a Fast Train, or a hundred other songs....think of the guy that wrote them.....Billy Joe.
