Now....in defense of the interviewer....by the end of the segment, he obviously realized how multi-talented Billy really is and made sure the audience understood. At the time of the interview, I'd only seen Billy get on stage briefly with Dale Watson at the Continental and one short gig with Redd Volkaert. But there was just something about his voice and songs that stuck with me. I kept 'planning' to go see one of his regular gigs, but just never quite made it....until a couple of friends came into town on a Tuesday night and wanted to hear some good honky-tonk. What better honky-tonk than a visit to Ginny's Little Longhorn made 'famous' by Dale Watson as the 'honkiest-tonkiest beer joint in town' to hear Billy Dee? Billy has a regular Tuesday night gig and I finally got to see almost a whole show. It won't be the last one! If you see Billy is playing anywhere close to you, be sure to go hear him. And, while you're there, get one....or more....of his cd's. You'll be glad you did!!
