Oh my......how scary it can get when you start looking old pictures!  The picture to the left is the only picture I have of me with my folks when I was little.

Several years later, my brother took the picture below at a 'reunion' with all of Dad's kids and their families.  Check out the tans on my folks.  By the end of every summer they were so dark, you would swear I was adopted.  Both my folks worked outside a lot and got beautiful tans.   I walked out in the sun for 5 minutes and turned lobster red....complete with blisters.  They say I got that fair skin from Grandpa Batchelor.  I wasn't fortunate enough to meet him so I'm just going to have to take their word for it.   Parents would never fib.....would they?

I'm teasing, of course....except for the hair (my goodness...that hair!) I looked...and acted...like both my folks.....no adoption agency could have gotten it that close!!

As an interesting sidelight....I'm not the only one that loves photography.  My brother did (does?) his own developing.  My bother-in-law, Larry, is an accomplished photographer.   Guess it runs through the family?

As I look at these pictures I have to wonder....what happened?  Where's that little girl...or even the one with all that hair, smooth skin, and only one chin?  Mom and Dad really didn't share that 'age gracefully' gene!  :)  At least I've gotten rid of the 'cat eye' glasses!
