My ancestors always hunted. First, because in the 'olden days' that's how families placed meat on the table. Later, because they enjoyed the taste of wild game and, sometimes, because it was a necessity if their families were going to eat. My mother, Mary, in her younger days was a crack shot. There were times during her first marriage that she was able to feed her children only by grabbing the rifle, going out in the fields, and hunting rabbit, squirrel, or what ever other small editable critter she could carry home and fix for dinner. They didn't go hungry! My son, Andy, learned the value....and fun....of hunting from his father who has hunted most of his life. He has learned to respect the animals he hunts, and to care for the land where they live. As his ancestors before him, he enjoys the sport of hunting, but doesn't hunt for sport......nothing is killed that isn't going to be used as food. I'm proud that he's passing this heritage down to his children as well. If you don't have a problem with pictures of this type, please continue and enjoy pictures from the his and his friends' hunts. If you have a problem.....that's ok. Please enjoy the rest of the website. |
