These 'Texas' pictures are in the Events section because visiting Texas
is an event!
My first trip to Austin was 1982. I was here a week and swore that
someday I'd live here. Seven years later, I made it. I don't
plan to leave.
Whether it's the high desert of the Big Bend area, the Gulf of Mexico,
the Hill Country, lakes, city skylines, or native flowers, Texas is big,
colorful, beautiful. I've traveled most of the 50 states. I
haven't found anything to match Texas.....yet.
Don't get me wrong!!! The Rocky Mountains are majestic.
Hawaii's flowers and the ocean can't be matched for beauty. The Smoky
Mountains defy description. North Carolina's coast is fascinating.
But, Texas has a variety that's unbelievable.
Texas has some ugly sights, too. There are insects that I don't
think exist anyplace else on earth. Floods that will wash you away
in an instant and be gone in a day. And the drive through west Texas
is desolate. But, the pluses offset all the minuses.
Here are pictures I've taken in the last few years since getting my digital
camera. I have a lot of others.....it just takes so long to scan them
into the system. ;(
Come visit sometime, I think you'll like it. And, if you've been
here before and didn't like it, give it another chance.....you just didn't
visit the right spot. ;)
