Linda has been my friend for more years than either of us care to remember!  But, with her living in Illinois and me in Texas, there aren't too many chances for us to celebrate any birthdays together.  This year was different.  I'd earned a free airline ticket and I used it to get her to Austin. 

I took the time off to 'show her the town' and introduce her to all the Texas friends I'd been telling her about. 

It started Wednesday night when I picked her up at the airport and we went straight to Hill's Cafe to see Ricky Trevino.  Thursday, it was James Hand at the Saxon Pub and David Ball at Ropers.  Friday, a long drive to West Columbia to see Kevin Fowler.  Saturday was Jason Allen.  Sunday was Dale Watson at Chicken Sh!t Sunday, James Hand and then Haybale at the Continental Club.  We ended the party on Monday with Dale again only at the Continental this time.

We managed 6 days of celebrating before we both collapsed and she had to go home!
