Every October, the FFA Alumni Asso of Bowie High School in Austin has a fund raiser to benefit the current FFA high school members.

Besides a silent auction, and a live auction (that is really fun to watch!!), they have good old fashion Texas style country music.

This year the entertain was none other than our old friends, Sam Bentley Band.

The benefit is hosted at the Manchaca Fire Hall so we even get some of the Fire Hall's All-You-Can-Eat Catfish fry!!!  Now that's a treat even without all the other fun going on!!

I didn't get any pictures of the auction cause I didn't want to move!!  Sure would have hated to accidently bid on something.........and have to pay.  These people are serious about supporting the FFA and really get wrapped up in the fun!!  As an example, a basket of mini-pies (tarts) went for about $50 per pie!!  A guitar was bought for $2,400 and immediately donated back to be re-auctioned.  This time the buyer spent almost as much as the first buyer. 

What fun for a really good cause!!!
