Received an email from John about his gig at Boots north of Bastrop.  I really wanted to go for several reasons.

First....and formost....because it was John and I enjoy his shows....a lot!  Second, he had Jim Lutz and Karen Hein playing with him.  I first met Jim and Karen in 2003 when they were playing with Dave Jorgenson.  With the music scene being what it is, we don't get to see them on the same stage very often and this was a chance to experience their playing once again.  And, lastly, Boots is the old Highway 95 Lounge that been taken over by new owners.  I wanted to see what, if any, changes they'd made.

Let's just say that John, Karen, and Jim didn't disappoint me.  I'll reserve judgment on Boots.  They've only been the owners for about a month.  They have a lot of work to do.  They've made a start.....still more to go.
