Linda had made a couple of trips to Austin before, but, we'd never just taken an afternoon to go downtown, see the capitol building, the lake, the sights.

There's nothing like taking a visitor sightseeing to help you appreciate the history and beauty of where you live. 

These are sights I'm around daily....without really "seeing" them.  We checked them all out when we first moved to Texas.....but.....that was almost 20 years ago!  In the rush of daily life, it's easy to forget what an amazing place Austin, TX, really is.

If you live here, take the time someday to take a tour of the capitol, or walk out on the pedestrian bridge over Lake Lady Bird, or go for a drive in the hill country just to take in the scenery.  If you've never been here, add Austin to your list of places you'd like to visit sometime.
