I am writing this message to someone who is having a special Birthday in a few days.  And this is a very special someone I am speaking of.  Someone who really cares about other people and how they feel,,,cares about them when times are good for them and in times when they need a little help.  James Hand wrote, "I never turned away from my friends, no matter what shape they were in", and that fits exactly the person I am thinking of as I write this,,,,someone with a cheerful smile and positive outlook, even when there's pain behind that smile,,,,someone who will go out of their way to encourage a young country singer, and even a not so young country singer, by coming out to their performances to cheer them on, often when it would be so much easier to stay home and in bed,,,,someone who won't abandon the memory of a musician just because he no longer walks the same streets that we do.  Dobie, by now you should know I am talking about you!  I just want you to know for sure how much I appreciate you, your friendship, to me and so many others, and especially all your encouragement over the last couple of years.
