1/10 Rex Robards @ Pardners # 100_2850
Rex Robards and The Barefoot Cowboy Band

Rex & The Barefoot Cowboy Band finally were playing close to home.  Well....okay.....40 miles away, but since I drive 35 miles to work every day, the extra distance wasn't any big deal!

I arrived late (really mustn't sit down in that recliner before going out!) and the place was already in full swing.  As I got out of the car, someone opened the door to the club and I could tell Rex was sounding as good as ever!

This was a special treat.  I'd been to Pardners before when John Bendele had played and always enjoyed the people and the club.  Then, they'd quit having live music.  To return now to a venue I enjoy with another band I love......well......it was just special.

When the band took a break, I had a chance to visit a little bit with Rex about his entirely new band!  He did tell me all their names......but, my memory just isn't what it used to be!  Sorry, Rex.....I'll do better next time.  I can tell you, though, that they are all very talented.  While the bass player did most of the backup vocals, in this picture, the drummer was doing a great job helping Rex with Jack Ingram's Barbie Doll.

Rex warned me that I'd missed most of his originals by getting there late but he and the band put their own stamp on covers so it was a-okay.  Besides....there were still a couple of originals.  Besides, I have the CD!

Be sure to go see Rex and his band.  This is one band that proves 'live' is better than 'recorded'.
