Dobie wanted to go to Acuna, Mexico, to see Kevin Fowler and stay the night in Del Rio, TX for her birthday.   At least until she couldn't find a hotel any closer than San Antonio (4 hours from Del Rio!)  Teree and I were relieved because we really wanted to see Ricky Calmbach.  Not that we don't love Kevin, but, we were already going to see him the following week and we knew Acuna was going to be crazy because of spring break.

But, Dobie loves Ricky and the idea of going to the Tin Star to see him made her happy.  Ricky didn't disappoint!  (he never does!)

For her birthday, Ricky did NOT sing Happy Birthday.   He remembered how much she loved it when he did Stevie Ray Vaughn's The Sky is Crying the previous week and he did it again.....dedicated to her in honor of her birthday.   Yeah.....she was happy!
