Why do I have so many pictures of Dale Watson and the Lone Stars? Lots of reasons....not the least of which is I love each of the guys and the music. You never see the same 'show' twice. There are no set lists. You might hear Elvis....or Waylon....definitely some Merle....and (of course) lots of original songs. You never know...you might hear a song for the first time. Dale's known for 'writing' on stage. Sometimes the band is hearing the song for the first time, too.....just like you! But, they're so good....you'd think they'd practiced it a million times. ;) Some examples? Try Tequila & Teardrops, or Dancing in Heaven. Those are just two I can think of that I had the pleasure of hearing for 'the first time'....there are hundreds more. Some funny....some not.....all good! You also never know what's going to happen! Like Don doing a pole-dance at the Cotton Club, Johnny Rodriguez or Billy Joe Shaver getting on stage with the guys, Dale and Don playing dueling guitars, or instrumental harmonies with lead, steel, and fiddle all playing exactly the same notes at the same time. Or.....little ones totally entranced by the music and Dale's guitar! Or, there might be a proposal on stage. That's right.....a proposal on stage (she did say 'yes'!). All that happened in one night! You never know what to expect.....I don't want to miss any of it! You shouldn't either! |
