1/37 Dale Watson @ The Broken Spoke # 100_2485
Dale Watson and The Lonestars

It isn't long now until Dale leaves for Baltimore and as a Christmas Gift to ourselves we wanted to be at the Broken Spoke for this special show.

I was running late, but, when you have special friends meeting you, you don't have to worry about getting a seat.  Thankfully, I have friends like that!  I only had to worry about parking!  Finally found a spot practically in the next county!  Ok....maybe not that bad.

I knew it was going to be a 'different' night when I saw the TV Channel 36 van in the parking lot.  I was right.

There are so many wonderful memories of the evening, it's kind of hard to 'recap' them all.

We ran into Billy Dee.....just don't get to see him enough.  He's been playing quite a bit up in Granger lately and we just have been traveling that far away.  But, we really admire him & just love him to death!

All our 'friends' that share our love of Dale's music were there.  Karolyn had even driven up from Houston.

Dobie and Teree presented me with my Christmas gift.  Pictures of me with all my favorite people including 3 pictures with Dale that they'd had him autograph.  Ok....it was only two different pictures, but once they had him sign them, they had one blown up so I'd have a 4x6 for my desk at work and an 8x10 for my desk at home.  Told you.....I have special friends.

But, the most special memory of the evening (of course!) was the music.  Dobie has often said that Dale and the guys make her 'heart happy' and she's right.  I kinda had the 'Christmas Blues' and had thought about not even going.  By the end of the first song, my heart was a lot lighter and I knew I would've kicked myself if I'd missed the show.....it got even better with the second, third, fourth..........well, you get the picture!

Any time you have the chance to see Dale Watson and His Lone Stars, or to see separately.....DO IT!
