TexasAndMusic.com What a night at the historic Broken Spoke.  Laurie and Albert told us they'd never seen Dale and the Lonestars.  Well....when we heard that, we knew they just had to join us at the beginning of Dobie's birthday celebration!  Albert plays drums so he really appreciates good music.  He and Laurie were entranced by the talent on stage.

The annual SouthBySouthwest festival was in town and lots of people were going to be at the historic Broken Spoke.  No reservations were being taken so Dobie and I arrived right after work (5:30pm) and waited for the doors to the 'back' to open (7:30pm) .  The wait was worth it....we had time to visit, enjoy a delicious meal, and get our favorite table (#15 on the left side) with a great view of the band all night.

The Wednesday before, Dale and the Lonestars were named the Best Country Band of 2005 at the Austin Music Awards....Dale was inducted to the Hall of Fame.  You could feel the excitement in the crowd, and they weren't disappointed!  Neither were we!

We had a blast and there are more pictures here!
