1/32 John Arthur Martinez @ Gruene Hall # 100_2091
John Arthur Martinez John Arthur Martinez on a Sunday afternoon at historic Gruene Hall?  Sounded like fun to us!  And it was!

Dobie has been a fan of JAM's for a long time having seen him 'way back when before Nashville Star'....I'm a new fan.  We were both looking forward to the show.  When we found out that not only was Ron Knuth and Joe Guzman were going to be with him, but our old friend B.B. Morse was going to be playing bass.....well that made it all that much better.

There really aren't any words to explain the talent of the musicians playing with JAM.  Chris is a genius on guitar making some very hot, difficult, licks look like any novice can do it.  Ron is unbelievable....in one song, he played 4 instruments and sang harmony!  Joe had the perfect beat on every song no matter what it was....always using the drums to compliment the music....not over power it.  And, then, there was B.B.......the only man I know that can make a stand-up bass sound that good.  But, when he picked up the electric bass for the second set, he showed me a whole new perspective on his playing!

The star, of course, was John Arthur.  He continues to amaze me with his diverse song selections and makes singing seem so effortless.  His originals though are where he really shines.....he is a 'story teller'.  But, Miranda is the shining light and may be giving her dad a run for his money one of these days!

I've noticed that when his fans post a review of the shows they attend, they include the set list....itemizing all the songs that are sung.  Sorry.....I didn't keep a list.....I was too mesmerized to keep track of anything except how good they sounded and how much fun I was having.

Check John Arthur's website for a list of shows and attend the next one you can.....you'll come away saying 'WOW' just like we did!
