Sam Bentley and His Honky Tonk Band

It had been a rainy dreary day and the night promised to be the same. It was tempting to stay home, pop some pop-corn, curl up in a warm blankey and become a couch potato. But, Sam and the guys were playing at Giddy-Ups again....and, we always have fun when we go see them. I called Dobie. She wasn't real 'keen' about going out in the rain, but agreed we shouldn't be staying home. We decided to meet at the club.
I got there shortly after 9, and hadn't even gotten my Diet Coke when Lori and Albert Perez walked in and surprised me. We found a table back in the corner and had a nice visit. By first break, we hadn't heard anything from Dobie. I found she'd left a message on my cell phone that she wasn't coming out unless there was something really extraordinary happening. When I called and told her about Laurie and Albert, she decided that was extraordinary and was at the club before the break ended!
We were invited to move up to a front table and had a 'ring-side' seat for the rest of the night.   Sam and Buddy to rest as Albert sat in on drums while Beme and Bill did a rousing rendition of Kevin Fowler's Lord Loves A Drinkin' Man.  Everone enjoyed themselves right up to Sam's signature ending of I Saw The Light.

Sure was a fun night for one that started out rainy and yukky!

It was a great night with great friends! You missed a lot if you weren't there!
