| 1/29 | Sam Bentley @ Hill's Cafe # 100_2008 |
|
Sam and the guys were playing at Hill's Cafe on a Saturday night. We got there about 8pm and couldn't believe the parking lot was FULL. For those of you who've never been to Hill's, let's just say..... that's an awful lot of cars!! We knew there are a lot of people that love to hear Sam and His Honky Tonk Band, but this was a little overboard. Then, we remembered.....the University of Texas game ended earlier.....that explained everything! Well.....some of those people may not have been Sam Bentley fans when they walked in, but, they sure were when they walked out!! What great exposure for Sam and the guys! Several of the regulars weren't present.....after all, it's deer season in Texas and they have their priorities! Sam had a special treat for the 'deer-widows'. He did Deer Huntin' Man to the tune of Waylon Jennings' Good Timin' Man. It was definitely a hit with the crowd. Sam's grandson, Cody, joined Sam on stage for the second set. That young man may be just starting out, but he's good....and he's getting some fan appreciation all his own. Even got asked for his autograph. Better watch out Sam.....seems to be a little competition there! :) All in all.....you couldn't have asked for a more plesant evening......again! |
