Dale has announced he's taking a much deserved break after the first of the year to spend time close to his kids.  We're happy for him and wait til he comes back.  But....until he goes....we want to see him every chance we get.  That includes at the Broken Spoke.

Dobie, Teree, Becky, Laurie, Albert, and I all decided to go (like there was a question?).  But, that's 6 people.....at a table for 4!!  Two gentlemen were sitting behind us and graciously allowed us to use their extra chairs.....and their table!  We made new friends!  Anton and Stephen from Ireland were visiting the Austin music scene before heading to Nashville for a bluegrass festival.

You not only don't know what will happen at a 'Dale Show', you don't know who you'll meet!  We ended up inviting them to join us the next night at Club 21 to see Ricky Calmbach and had a blast with them there as well.  Just wish we were all on vacation like they were so we could've joined them at all the shows they had scheduled for their stay in Austin.

Dale also surprised James White, owner of the Broken Spoke, with a song about a bus driving through the wall in honor of the accident that had occurred at the club a few weeks earlier.  I think everyone enjoyed that!  Especially since there's still very visible construction going on to fix all the damage.

At the end of the evening, Dale came outside long enough for us to get a picture of him with Albert & Laurie by his bike.  I think they're both framing a copy of that picture.  But, you can see it here!
