I was not supposed to see Sam and the guys this weekend.  I was supposed to be in Port Aransas with the rest of the gang celebrating Thayron's birthday.  But, the night before I had a 'fight' with my supper and just didn't feel up to a 3 1/2 hour ride down to the coast.  Besides...I thought it might be better to be close to home in case another 'battle' broke out!  By 7:30, though, I felt better and was bored watching bad weekend-TV.

I cleaned up, put on some makeup (so I didn't look like a ghost!), and headed into to Giddy Ups to listen to Sam, Jim, Wes, Ed, and Albert play some honky-tonk music.

The crowd was small but appreciative.  Nancy had removed one of the pool tables to make more dancing room and there were couples on the floor all night long.  The band had setup in the 'patio', most of the dancers were in the 'bar' area.  That turned out to be good for me....only 3 or 4 of us were in the patio, so it was like having our own private concert.

It's always hard for a band to play to an empty house, but the guys did great.  In fact, they decided to 'have fun' tried out a few new songs....including my favorite!

All I can say is........thanks guys!  Those of us there enjoyed every minute!
