Sam Bentley Band was playing Hill's Cafe and Dave Jorgenson was playing Winston's with Albert sitting in on drums.  What do you do when two of your favorite bands are playing that close together?  What if it's a 'special' night for both, and you didn't look at the calendar before you promised you'd be both places?  Well, you hope one starts playing earlier than the other.  Thankfully Sam started at 7:30, Dave started at 9!!!

This was the first time Sam and the guys played at Hill's.  In Austin, it's a 'big deal' for a new band...playing on the historic stage under the old oak trees is a feather in any band's cap.  Sam was concerned they wouldn't have a crowd.  It was early Saturday evening and more than one band has played to empty chairs in that same time slot!  Sam didn't need to worry!!  That didn't surprise us, but, I think it might've Sam!  ;)

It worked out that Dobie, Teree, and I got to enjoy a good dinner, listen to great music, talk to our friends, and still got to Winston's to see/hear Dave & Albert!
