Riley's Tavern is the oldest 'neighborhood bar' in Texas having been issued the first liquor license after Prohibition in 1933. It has a lot of character....history....and, live music just about every night. This would be a neat place to just stop in and visit with friends if you lived in the area. But, it is small! If it hadn't been cold and the guys could have setup outside in the patio area, this would have been a blast. As it was, we were inside with little room to dance! Of course, John, Albert, and the guys did a great show.....they just didn't have much room to move around....and neither did we! My opinion? Let's try this venue again this summer! ;) But, if you're running around south of San Marcos, drop in and have a cold one....I think you'll enjoy it! www.johnbendele.com |
