When you're trying to figure out what you're going to do on New Year's Eve in Texas, you have all sorts of choices.  Everything from staying home to traveling 250 miles for a special show.  We were actually waffling between those two options.  Dale Watson was going to be in Denton.....Kevin Fowler was going to be in Ft Worth....and the rest of 'our guys' all had gigs somewhere.  We'd kinda decided a trip north was going to be the order of the night.   Then, we heard Sam was going to be playing in Bastrop.  We decided to stay closer to home and have some fun with old....and new....friends.

Sam, the guys, and The Stumble Inn did NOT disappoint us.

The night started a little shaky when we couldn't find the bar.  (We now know it's just west of Bastrop on the north side of Hwy 71!)  But, 'getting lost' doesn't deter us.  We might arrive a little late, but we will arrive!  The first thing we saw when we walked in the door was a big spread of food....good idea when most people are concentrating on drinking!!!!   Then, we saw all our friends.  The party was on! 

We made the right New Year's Eve choice this year.
