Our
friend, Michelle, had managed to get on the honor roll and dean's list her
first semester in college. To reward her, we took her and Katie to
a Kevin Fowler show at Coupland Dancehall. To add to the fun, we were
sitting close to the dance floor and the Fowler Fanatics. Jarrod
Birmingham opened the show and did a great job. Usually, when Kevin
comes on stage, people rush to the front and crowd around in front of him.
Coupland doesn't allow that so everyone was able to dance through the whole
show.
The
girls didn't know how to dance, but they were willing to get on the floor
and try. Sitting behind us was a young man named Brooklyn and his
friends. He danced with Katie and gave her some really good lessons.
Of course, there were plenty of guys asking the girls to dance....whether
they knew how or not!
There were lots of memories made, but, the one we probably have the most
persistent reminder of is the live recording Kevin did of Don't Touch
My Willie. The recording did make it onto his album released later
in the summer! Both the girls had their pictures taken with Kevin
and Mike. Then, as we were saying our good-byes, They saw Jarrod standing
off to the side by himself and were able to not only get his autograph,
but, had a nice visit with him as well.
